So the taboo ritual seemed lame, the fights were annoying and tedious (even the Mourners felt like watered-down Blindeds), and Mayu’s behavior was so frustrating that at some point I just had no desire to go rescue her- and if you don’t have that drive, it just feels like you’re being dragged along in an errand you don’t want to do. Plus, compared to being isolated for ten years and then drawn and quartered (1) or being tattooed with the blood of the living and the dead and being forced to absorb and relive the memories and feelings of grief for eternity while being staked alive to the ground in a dark room (3), choking your sibling and having them chucked into a hole seemed kinda weak by comparison. (She’s hypnotized/called to, sure, but it’s still so frustrating, and god it gets old after a while.)
#Fatal frame 2 ending plus
Plus you go through so much effort to reunite with your sister and she keeps begging you not to leave her alone, and then SHE keeps wandering off. So I give them a pass for that one.įor me, Idislike the combat of 2- so many of the ghosts are hesitant to attack you and have a lot of disengagements in their behavior, making fatal frames and battles a lengthy war of attrition. It SO hard to navigate! But to their credit, they have a reason in the lore for it feeling that way- that it was a built upon piece by piece by different builders and intentionally designed to be a huge maze that’s impossible to navigate, in order to ensure that the priestess will wander forever, never finding the exit. True enough! The Manor of Sleep is a NIGHTMARE of design.
